PCCF Release Destinations
Pike County Correctional Facility is the county's only verified detention facility. For a county detainee, departure can mean bail or recognizance, completion of a county sentence, release under a court order, county parole, probation, or a move to another authority. A record that says the person left PCCF does not by itself show that the person entered the community. Read the release type and destination together.
A transfer to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections starts or continues state custody. Another county may take the person on its own charge. The U.S. Marshals Service may assume federal pretrial or transport custody. ICE may control an immigration detainer or detainee movement. Each outcome requires a different search. County parole places the person in the community under Pike court supervision, while state parole follows a state prison sentence and PA DOC supervision.

Confirm a PCCF Release
Pike County publishes no official searchable jail roster, release archive, 24-hour feed, or 72-hour feed. Start with a narrow identity match and the source tied to the likely custody path. Absence from an unverified commercial roster proves nothing, especially when other counties named Pike appear in online results.
- Collect the full name, date of birth or age, approximate booking dates, and Pike docket or booking number if known.
- Call PCCF at 570-775-5500 and ask for current-custody direction or the correct records route.
- Search Pennsylvania VINE for the named person and read the agency and custody status exactly.
- Review the Pike criminal docket for bail, disposition, sentencing, and later court orders.
- Search PA DOC, ICE, or federal sources when a transfer to that authority is plausible.
- Request the existing PCCF booking and release entry for exact time, authority, and destination.
A facility release time plus a compatible court order offers strong support for an ordinary county release. If the destination names PA DOC, ICE, USMS, or another jail, the record instead supports a transfer. When sources conflict, note when each was checked and favor the responsible custodian's dated record over an older alert.

Staff may give immediate custody direction by phone, but a written release entry is the durable source for release time, type, and destination. Ask which county channel holds the booking or movement record if staff cannot provide it directly.

Request PCCF Release Records
A focused request should seek existing records for one person and custody episode. State the full name, date of birth if known, and a narrow admission or release range. Include the docket, incident, or booking number when available. Ask for the booking sheet and release or discharge entry, including existing fields for admission and release time, release authority, release type, destination, receiving agency, detainer notation, charges, court, bail notation, and booking photograph.
Do not demand that Pike create a report or answer why a person was released. Ask for existing records sufficient to show the event. If parts are exempt, request redaction and production of the segregable public portion. The Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law normally requires a response within five business days, though a written extension may apply. The law does not guarantee that every requested field or photograph will be disclosed.
PCCF does not publish how long a release entry stays available because it has no public online archive. Administrative records may exist under retention rules, litigation holds, and applicable law. If historical data is said not to exist, ask for the applicable retention schedule. A Pike Clerk of Courts docket may preserve related court events even when no facility listing is public.
Note: Request the destination or receiving agency because a bare release date cannot distinguish community release from transfer.
PCCF ICE Release Search
Immigration custody is a substantial part of the Pike County Correctional Facility search. PCCF holds ICE detainees, and the county's own page links the ICE Online Detainee Locator System. ICE inspection materials identify PCCF as an immigration detention site under the Philadelphia field office. The facility remains one physical institution, but county and immigration populations follow different legal and records paths.
Search ODLS by A-number and country of birth, or use exact biographical information including name, country of birth, and date of birth. A positive location supports current covered ICE detention. A no-result response does not prove that the person entered the community. It may reflect spelling, a recent change, a transfer, removal, release, a protected category, or a person who was never in ICE custody.
Leaving Pike County Correctional Facility under immigration authority may mean transfer to another ICE site, removal from the United States, or release on an immigration order or conditions. The PCCF door-out event cannot choose among those outcomes. Match the county destination entry with ODLS, the ICE field-office channel, family or counsel information, and a focused ICE records request where needed. Does an ICE detainer equal release? No. A detainer is a basis for another authority to assume custody. A PCCF departure under that hold may continue confinement without a break.
PCCF History and Programs
The official county page says Pike County Correctional Facility was built in 1995. It is an 87,800-square-foot, direct-supervision facility on 268 acres in Blooming Grove Township. It houses men and women in 375 beds. Pennsylvania's county-prison inspection schedule also lists PCCF in the Northeast region with 375 beds.
The county describes H.O.P.E. programming for women and A.R.R.O.W., C.O.R.E., and M.O.R.E. programming for men. These are local features of the institution. They do not prove that any named person participated, completed a program, earned release, or received a particular release type. Individual status still comes from the person's custody and court records.
PCCF is governed through the Pike County Prison Board. Its direct-supervision design and mixed county and ICE role help explain why the facility page links more than one custody system. They do not create a public roster or recent-release archive.
PCCF County and State Records
A Pike county detainee may never appear in the PA DOC locator. That state system covers people committed to Pennsylvania state custody and people under state parole supervision. If a PCCF release entry names PA DOC as the destination, a current state institution result confirms transfer rather than community release. Later, a supervised-person Release Date may show a state-prison-to-parole event.
The Pike UJS criminal docket can explain bail, a court-ordered release, disposition, sentence, credit for time served, or county parole. It is not a live jail clock. The Pike Clerk of Courts supplies public criminal orders and certified dockets, while Pike Adult Probation and Parole handles local court supervision. State parole instead runs through the Pennsylvania Parole Board and PA DOC Parole Services.

PCCF Release Packet Resources
PCCF links a 79-page Community Resource Guide as its Release Packet. Pike County's Reentry Coalition formed in 2019 to identify needs and connect returning people with local resources. The packet includes Pike Transportation, legal-aid contacts, and other purpose-neutral local support. It is useful once release to the community is confirmed.
The Release Packet is not a person locator. It does not show who left PCCF, when someone left, or whether ICE or another agency took custody. Use the release entry and correct custody system for those facts, then use the packet to plan local transportation and support. The county says the guide is provided upon admission, but individual receipt or use should not be assumed.
Unknown release details should remain unknown. Pike does not publish the time of day releases occur, which exit is used, holiday processing rules, a family waiting area, property-return steps, gate money, taxi or rideshare rules, release-log retention, or a booking-photo fee. Call PCCF for current instructions rather than filling those gaps with practices from another jail.
